Inauguration of Two Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Production Lines in Kermanshah
In a formal ceremony, two new API production lines were inaugurated at the DPPCCO plant in Kermanshah, with the presence of senior national officials.
This industrial project marks a significant milestone in strengthening the country’s pharmaceutical infrastructure and expanding production capacity in western Iran. It is considered a pivotal step toward pharmaceutical self-sufficiency and enhancing export capabilities.

The event was attended by Dr. Ahmad Meydari, Minister of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare; Dr. Mohammadreza Saeedi, CEO of the Social Security Investment Company (Shasta); Dr. Manouchehr Habibi, Governor of Kermanshah; members of parliament representing Kermanshah; and deputy governors. The officials toured various sections of the facility.
The two production lines were constructed across three floors, covering a total area of 1,100 square meters, including 500 square meters of cleanroom space. The facility is equipped with eight reactors and three centrifuges. The estimated annual production capacity exceeds 100 tons of API, which will play a vital role in meeting domestic demand and reducing reliance on imports.

During the ceremony, the Minister emphasized the importance of developing the pharmaceutical industry, stating:
“The inauguration of these production lines is a symbol of national capability in the health and knowledge-based production sectors, and it can contribute to sustainable employment in the region.”
