Unveiling 63 New Products: Strengthening Domestic Pharmaceutical Capabilities

The unveiling ceremony of 63 new pharmaceutical products, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and veterinary medicines developed by Tamin Pharmaceutical Investment Company (TIPICO) was held on Sunday, February 7, as part of national commemorative events. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmad Meydari, Iran’s Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare; Dr. Meysam Saeedi, CEO of Shasta; Dr. Mohammad Naderi Alizadeh, CEO of TIPICO; along with senior executives and key stakeholders from the pharmaceutical sector.

DPPC, as one of the core contributors to the pharmaceutical supply chain, was present at the event. In recognition of the company’s effective contribution to strengthening domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing, ensuring the continuity of medicine supply, and maintaining operational stability under challenging conditions, a commemorative plaque was presented to the Acting CEO of DPPC.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Ahmad Meydari highlighted the strategic importance of domestic capacity building in the pharmaceutical sector, stating that:

“The introduction of 63 new pharmaceutical products represents more than an industrial milestone; it reflects sustained investment in domestic capabilities, continuity of supply during critical periods, and a forward-looking approach to national resilience.”

He further emphasized the importance of adaptive governance and continuous improvement in navigating complex economic and industrial challenges.

The Minister also commended the performance of TIPICO, noting its commitment to maintaining and enhancing production levels during periods of heightened pressure on the healthcare system:

“While some companies scaled back their operations, TIPICO sustained and strengthened its production capacity through proactive and internally driven efforts, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility toward public health.”
